2007 SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition (ATCE)
Date: November 11-14, 2007
Location: Anaheim, CA
This year ATCE will be held at the Anaheim Convention Center in Orange County! It will be student
co-hosted by your very own USC chapter of SPE. Come and discuss with peers and experienced engineers
the various aspects of the petroleum industry. Meet and network with professionals and companies.
The ATCE is an excellent opportunity to learn and address the big crew change of up and coming young
professionals.

USC SPE Recognized as Student Chapter of the Month

Congratulations to the USC SPE for being recognized as the student chapter of the month for the month
of May! With all the hard work and dedication that was put in by the SPE student members, the chapter
was officially awarded the Student Chapter of the Month by the Society of Petroleum Engineers. With
new executive board members, the student chapter was able to put on a variety of events that
demonstrated their devotion and commitment in pursuit of their primary goal, which is to serve provide
opportunities for students. Some of the events that were put on this year by the
chapter include off shore drilling tours, the SPE Western Regional Student Paper contest, company
informational nights, and drilling equipment demonstrations. Though it is a small chapter, USC SPE
has truly demonstrated that quality counts over quantity. With nearly all current executive board
members returning to the e-board next year, the USC chapter is ready to take on another challenging
year in hopes of achieving even more success!
